Family Swim Night
Friday July 1st

Chips, hotdogs, watermelon, and drinks will be provided!

Where: 500 McCool Ave, at Ellis Field Park in the Village of East Syracuse
When: 6pm to 8pm
Cost: Free. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

34th Annual Syracuse Jazz Festival
Saturday July 2nd – Sunday July 3rd

Don’t miss an eclectic mashup of musical styles from well-known world class musicians at the Northeast’s largest Jazz festival.

Where: OCC Campus – 4585 West Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse
When: 3pm to 10pm
Cost: Free event – parking is $5-$10, and there will be for trucks on site to purchase food.

Outdoor Movie at Green Lakes State Park
Saturday July 2nd

Enjoy a free outdoor movie showing of Cinderella at the Lakeview Picnic Area! At 8pm there will be a campfire, s’mores and popcorn, and at 9pm Cinderella will begin to play on an inflatable screen. Bring chairs, bug spray, and blankets. If rainy, contact the park office to see if the movie has been moved to an indoor location (315-637-6111).

Outdoor Movie at Lysander Park
Sunday July 3rd

Enjoy a free outdoor showing of The LEGO Movie at Lysander Park!

Cost: Free event. There will be snacks like popcorn, candy, snow cones, cotton candy, juice, water, and more for purchase.

Kids Zone at Fort Brewerton
Sunday July 3rd

Enjoy fun for the whole family with a bounce house, inflatable slide, gymnastics and karate demonstrations, balloons, crafts, ice cream, face painting and more!

Tykes Tuesday
Tuesday July 5th

Head to the Canyon at Destiny USA every Tuesday this summer for interactive activities for children through the age of 12.

Wild Berry Ice Cream Hike
Wednesday July 6th

Pick wild raspberries and blackberries, and then try your hand at cranking out some delicious homemade ice cream.

Eric Carle Author Party
Wednesday July 6th

Celebrate the beloved children’s author with fun food, activities and cartoons for the whole family.

An introductory yoga class for children in grades 7-12.

Take a StoryWalk in the park with the Liverpool Public Library. Ages 5 and under with caregiver.

Superhero Day at the Liverpool Public Library
Thursday July 14th

Children between the ages of 5 and 10 can dress up like their favorite superhero, eat super snacks and partake in fun activities. Pre-registration is required.

Family Fort Night
Friday July 15th

For families with children ages 2+, bring your blankets/sheets and pillows from home to build forts, and enjoy special stories, activities, pizza and s’mores. Pre-registration is required.

When: 6pm to 7:30pm

17th Annual Syracuse Nationals
Friday July 15th – Sunday July 17th

Don’t miss one of the largest classic car shows in the country, which features over 8,000 cars, 90,000 people, and 400 vendors!

Where: New York State Fairgrounds
When: 8am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday, 8am to 3pm on Sunday
Cost: Adults – $18, Children 6 to 12 – $8, Children 5 and under – free

Story time and Walk in the Park

Mr. Popper’s Penguins Zoovie
Thursday July 21st

Bring the whole family to tour the zoo and enjoy an outdoor animal-themed movie experience on a beautiful summer night! Limited seating is provided – bring your own blankets and/or chairs.

Where: Rosamond Gifford Zoo – One Conservation Place, Syracuse
When: Zoo opens at 6pm Movie starts at dusk (approximately 8:30pm)
Cost: Members: $5 per person, Non-Members: $10 per person, Children 2 and Under: Free. Hot dogs, popcorn, light snacks and refreshments available for purchase at the Courtyard Cafe.

The Young Performers’ Edition of The Wizard of Oz
Friday July 22nd – Saturday July 23rd

Join the students of the Landmark Theatre Camp as they bring The Wizard of Oz to the Landmark stage.

Butterfly Chase
Saturday July 23rd

Get up close and learn all about the majestic Monarch butterfly, then have fun running through the fiends with grab nets to see how many you can catch.

Oswego Harborfest
Thursday July 28th – Sunday July 31st

Don’t miss the 29th annual Oswego Harborfest – especially the Children’s Parade on July 29th at 1:30pm! There will be many pre-parade activities at Breitbeck Park, and following the parade, parents can bring their children to the Oswego Health Activity Area, located at Novelis Family Park, to enjoy a carnival-like setting with many games and prizes for children.

Walk on the Wild Side
Friday July 29th

Visit the Wild Animal Park and help make wishes come true with the Make A Wish Foundation of Central New York! This event features admission to the Wild Animal Park, a welcome backpack with goodies, dinner for ages 3+, games, raffles, demonstrations, and much more! Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door.

Where: Wild Animal Park – 7621 Lakeport Road, Chittenango
When: 5:30pm to 8:30pm
Cost: $25 for adults, $20 for children ages 3-12, and children ages 2 and younger are free.

S’mores and Stars
Friday July 29th

Enjoy a campfire and s’mores, then finish this special night looking and learning about the night sky through specialized telescopes

Where: Reserve Shelter ball field at Green Lakes State Park
When: 7pm to 9pm
Cost: Free with park entrance

46th Annual Arts and Crafts Festival
Friday July 29th – Sunday July 31st

Enjoy a 3-day showcase of arts and crafts exhibits featuring more than 160 artists, music, multi-cultural performances, summer refreshments, and fun activities.

Where: Columbus Circle, downtown Syracuse
When: Friday and Sunday 10am to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm
Cost: Free admission

Campfire Cooking
Sunday July 31st

Learn how to make some tasty treats over the campfire! Pre-registration is required.

Where: 7900 Green Lakes Road, Fayetteville
When: 11am or 2pm
Cost: Free with park admission
