and the Moms Who Live Here

Amanda is a stay at home mom to 3 boys (a 9 year old and 7 year old fraternal twins) plus a cat, and a semi-single parent due to my husband’s job taking him overseas. She enjoys training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, reading, snacks, naps, and cracking jokes. She is also a US Navy veteran having served 5 years on active duty and 4 years in the Reserves.

Amanda is a wife, mother, sister, friend. Reader, baker, crafter. Lover of coffee, chocolate, and and all things Harry Potter. Always up for a trip to the beach. Part time Marketing Professional, Full Time Mommy.

Becca is a a displaced southern girl with roots in Tennessee, Virginia and Louisiana, currently living in Central New York with her Irish-Italian husband, their two daughters and dog. Her professional background is in communications and writing is her first love. She is passionate about volunteering for local organizations and her daughters’ school. She is an avid swimmer & considers herself an amateur decorator. She loves reading, writing and creating. Considering her southern roots, she loves antiques, family history, monograms on anything that sits still and a good thank you note.

Syracuse became her home in 2008. It has been her longest home and has her heart for sure. Her family is made up of herself, her husband, their three kids (a boy, two girls) and a pitbull. Her oldest is 8 years old and my middle is 5 years old. They are from her husbands first marriage but are her babies none-the-less. Her youngest is 1-and-a-half but a HANDFUL as all toddlers are. Her family is her world, life, and job. As a stay-at-home mom, she loves creating for them and seeing them grow each day.
In her spare time, she likes to read, browse Pinterest, and crochet.

Carrie and her husband, two middle-school-aged children are native CNYers who live in Pompey with their two cats
and 11 chickens. She is a middle- and high-school teacher and enjoys caring for their property and learning to be
more self-sufficient in homesteading-type ways. She also enjoys reading, crossword puzzles, baking, and hiking.
Her son has autism, and her Autism Mom hat is always close by, if not on.

Cheryl is an English teacher by day and mom, wife, and blogger by night (well before and after school and night!). She has been married to her husband, Jason, for 9 years and has three lovely ladies: Layla, 8, and identical twins Cassidy and Stella, 3. When She’s not Mom-ing, Wife-ing, or Teaching, you can find her reading the books on the New York Times Best Sellers’ List, trying out new-to-us restaurants in Syracuse with her hubby, or figuring out the best way to organize her life!

Emily’s your typical urban homesteader, a homeschooling single mama of two girl humans, two boy cats, and a composter full of worms. There’s usually a Mason jar of something fermenting in the cupboard, and a pile of line-dried laundry attempting to fold itself on the couch. She’s a tree-hugging Creature Teacher with Creatures in the Wild, a tongue-twisting Arabic instructor at Nas Learning Center, and a crafty entrepreneur working on a secret project involving something local, organic, and sparkly. Check out her potty training advice at and look forward to her posts on all things natural living, positive parenting, and thrifty home ec.

When Giovanna isn’t shuttling her daughter to her activities she can be found drinking copious amounts of iced coffee, binge watching Breaking Bad for the hundredth time or hanging with their dog Sloan.
